These weird little ladies are a nod to my childhood Sisters, who taught me grammar, religion, and even sex education (or at least tried). Some are figurines, while others’ heads come off to reveal tiny potion bottles. Alongside them I made ‘Grammar Trauma’ plates, based on sister patricia’s lessons. These were first shown with my exhibition Oh Sister! at NIAD in Richmond, CA in 2018 and naturally incorporate my Catholic school uniform plaid.
